The Education Safeguarding Advisor (Online Protection) within the Education Safeguarding Service regularly receives queries from schools in relation to warning parents/carers and young people about the online safeguarding risks they have heard about via the media.

1 in 5 British schools and colleges experienced a cyber-attack, with 50% of those being targeted by a phishing scam according to research last year. For those attacked, the loss of data (82%) and the costs involved in putting things right (47%) were the two greatest concerns.

Liverpool Football Club and the UK Safer Internet Centre hosted over 400 children at Anfield on Safer Internet Day. Thirty-one schools from across Liverpool gathered to listen to our online safety expert, play Safer Internet Day games, meet players and tour the stadium.
