SWGfL welcomes the UK Government’s Online Harms White Paper and its commitment to making the UK the safest place to be online.
We have 20 years of experience supporting schools, children and young people with improving their online safety policy and practice. We advise and work closely with UK Government and the wider European & International online landscape, and our regular UK research and expertise informs national and international strategies.
As a partner in the UK Safer Internet Centre we will continue to build on the valuable services we provide to vulnerable internet users: the Professionals Online Safety Helpline supporting the children’s workforce; the Reporting Harmful Content Online platform helping users with the removal of harmful social media content and the Revenge Porn Helpline service that speaks daily with adult victims of image-based abuse. These services are built on unique relationships with and knowledge of industry providers and we are keen to drive change in continued partnership with them.
SWGfL will take an active role in the Government’s consultation, using this opportunity to further its work with stakeholders, the UK government, law enforcement and industry to keep all internet users safe.
