SWGfL was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the 19th Annual International Business Awards® on Monday 15th August.
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organisations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2022 IBAs received entries from organisations in 67 nations and territories.
More than 3,700 nominations from organisations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.
Organisation of the Year – Non-Profit
SWGfL won in the Organisation of the Year category for Non-Profit or Government Organisations – Small. As part of our nomination, we highlighted our extensive work in ensuring everyone can benefit from technology free from harm as well as outlined the work that our helplines are doing in protecting victims of online harm.
We referenced StopNCII.org as one of our latest innovative tools to support adults experiencing intimate image abuse. The judges were able to put forward their own comments around the work of SWGfL, some of these included:
‘Great achievements in the prevention of crime and ensuring environments are free from harm. Sustain and expand your efforts to other areas. Kudos!’
‘Great entry! It clearly demonstrates the growth achievements and shows a team dedicated to excellence. A good example of an innovative solution business actually needs. Well done.’
‘What you do is impressive! Keep going with bringing the online safety awareness to a global scale!’
‘I admire the work that you're doing to keep kids safe.’
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process in June and July.
David Wright CEO of SWGfL said: ‘’We were so thrilled to be announced as the recipient of this International award. Keeping users safe online is a global responsibility and we hope that our work can go towards spreading essential awareness around how anyone can benefit from technology free from harm. The online world will no doubt evolve but we’ll always keep up!’’
Stevie Awards president Maggie Miller said “We’re thrilled that we’re able to return to celebrating Stevie winners in person this year. This year’s class of honorees are as innovative, adventuresome, persistent, and successful as we’ve ever had’
