SWGfL Announced as Finalist in the Tech South West Awards

We are pleased to reveal that SWGfL has been announced as a finalist in two categories for the 2024 Tech South West Awards. ProjectEVOLVE was announced in the Best Education Initiative category and StopNCII.org announced in the Tech for Good category. Results are set to be announced in November and we eagerly anticipate them!

Tech South West Awards

The Tech South West Awards celebrate the best in technology and innovation across the South West of the UK. They recognise outstanding achievements by tech companies, entrepreneurs, and digital pioneers in categories such as innovation, sustainability, and business growth. The awards showcase the region’s thriving tech sector, highlighting its contributions to industries like AI, software development, and green tech, while fostering collaboration and talent development within the local tech community.

ProjectEVOLVE – Best Education Initiative

ProjectEVOLVE is our leading digital literacy toolkit designed to help educators teach young people about online safety, digital responsibility, and digital literacy. Developed by our team, it provides age-appropriate resources, including lesson plans and interactive activities, to guide students in navigating the digital world safely and responsibly. What sets ProjectEVOLVE apart is its comprehensive, evolving framework that addresses a wide range of digital issues—from cyberbullying to privacy—helping students develop critical thinking skills and resilience in the digital age. Its adaptability to different educational settings makes it a key initiative in promoting digital wellbeing in schools and this recognition exemplifies its status as a leading educational initiative.

StopNCII.org – Tech for Good

StopNCII.org (Stop Non-Consensual Intimate Image Abuse) is our online tool that helps protect individuals from the sharing of intimate images without their consent. It allows any adult in the world to generate "hashes" (unique digital fingerprints) of their images, which allows major industry partners to block the content from being shared online. This proactive use of technology to prevent online harm is a leading example of tech being used for good, empowering individuals to protect themselves across a global scale.
