StopNCII.org Showcased at Paris Peace Forum 2022

Alongside 4,800 delegates and 32 Heads of State, SWGfL was invited to the Paris Peace Forum on November 11 and 12 to showcase the revolutionary StopNCII technology, that supports adults experiencing non consensual intimate image abuse.

The 2022 event focused on ‘Riding out the multicrisis and preventing a destructive world polarization that would jeopardize the collective efforts on many critical challenges for humanity’. The event took place at the beautiful Palais Brongniart.

Amongst the six priorities of the Forum, was ‘Ensuring a safer and ethical digital world’, in which StopNCII.org had been selected to be showcased.  As a headline project, SWGfL was proud to have the opportunity to share the ground-breaking technology that StopNCII.org represents and the impact it is making.

StopNCII.org provides the world’s first device side hashing technology that actively prevents anyone else from sharing their intimate images online.  Victims of Non-consensual intimate image (NCII) abuse describe the desperation and despair if they are being threatened with having their intimate images posted online; whether this is by an estranged partner or criminal gang.  StopNCII.org restores the power to the victim by discharging this threat.  It works by enabling the victim to create a unique identifier (a sort of digital fingerprint) of their image or video that StopNCII.org then shares with participating social media platforms.  Depending on platform policy, this process allows platforms to identify content and prevent it from being posted.

The recognition by the Paris Peace Forum allowed the team to share this revolutionary and life saving technology in so many discussions, at a number of roundtables and presentations across the two days. Discover more about the 2022 Paris Peace Forum.
