About the WSIS Prizes

Launched in 2003, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) represents one of the most significant global platforms for advancing digital development, inclusion, and innovation. Hosted by the ITU and supported by the UN, WSIS brings together governments, civil society, NGOs, and tech leaders to recognise impactful digital initiatives that promote sustainable development through technology.

The WSIS Prizes honour transformative projects across 18 categories, aligned with the WSIS Action Lines and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Why StopNCII.org?

StopNCII.org (Stop Non-Consensual Intimate Image abuse) embodies the WSIS mission of using technology for social good. This first-of-its-kind global tool allows adults impacted by intimate image abuse to take back control of their images. By leveraging groundbreaking image hashing technology, it enables a safe way to prevent non-consensual intimate images from being shared online.

The platform is a collaboration between industry partners and a global network of NGOs, all working together to uphold privacy rights, promote safety, and provide a meaningful, tech-based solution to a growing global issue.

Explore StopNCII.org, or read our 3rd Year Anniversary release to discover how this tool is supporting survivors and building safer online spaces through global collaboration.

Don’t forget—your vote can help elevate StopNCII.org and bring greater awareness to the issue of intimate image abuse. Voting closes soon, with winners to be announced in July 2025.
