We are delighted to announce that StopNCII.org has been announced as a finalist in the UK IT Industry Awards for 2024 in the Charity (Third Sector Project of the Year) category. The UK IT Industry awards are there to ‘celebrate and promote the organisations, teams, projects, technologies and individuals who have given so much, and those who continue to help shape the future of IT, our industry and digital society.’
StopNCII.org was included alongside other leading organisations throughout the UK who are making a positive impact within the field of technology. Within our own work with StopNCII.org, we have strived to ensure that no one should have to experience intimate image abuse.
StopNCII.org
StopNCII.org protects all adults across the world who are threatened with having their intimate images shared online without consent. StopNCII.org is a free online tool that is available worldwide. For the first time, anyone who is affected by threats to share their intimate images has the means to protect and empower themselves whilst taking control away from perpetrators.
With StopNCII.org, victims can take immediate action to ensure that what was intended to be private, stays private. StopNCII.org is the worldwide change needed to tackle intimate image abuse. For far too long, victims have been left powerless against the actions of perpetrators, often not knowing where to go to for support.
David Wright CEO of SWGfL said: “StopNCII.org puts control back where it belongs; in the hands of victims experiencing intimate image abuse. It has already changed the dynamic of responding to intimate image abuse across the world with over 300,000 individuals supported and over 800,000 images and videos being protected in the process. In the fight to protect ourselves online, StopNCII.org represents the innovation and advancement needed for a better online world. We’d like to enormously thank the UK IT Industry Awards for recognising StopNCII.org for this award – we look forward to the results!”
