We are delighted to announce that StopNCII.org has  been announced as a finalist for the Digital Technology Leaders Award in the Not-for-Profit category. Furthering the recognition that StopNCII has achieved since its inception in 2021, this announcement is a wonderful testament towards the support that it has provided adults across the world, to prevent against intimate image abuse.

The Digital Technology Leaders Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the field of digital technology. These awards honour individuals, teams, and organisations that have demonstrated innovation, excellence, and impactful contributions towards the digital landscape.

Their categories include areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital transformation, and many more. The awards serve as a platform to showcase the pioneering work and successes of leaders driving advancements in technology and in turn, shaping the digital future of the UK.

Since its launch by SWGfL and Meta, StopNCII.org has been hailed for its pioneering use of technology, using world-first hashing to protect individual’s intimate content from being shared online. The innovative technology behind  StopNCII.org ensures user privacy is protected throughout the process, something which hadn’t been achieved beforehand. To enhance its benefit, StopNCII.org has also integrated Microsoft PhotoDNA; furthering protection and expanding the opportunity for more platforms to join the initiative.

The innovation of StopNCII.org has led 10 industry platforms to partner with the tool and implement its hashing technology   to protect their users. Partnering platforms include Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Bumble Inc, Reddit, OnlyFans, Threads, Aylo, Snap Inc and Niantic. With the increased need for StopNCII.org, alongside the engagement and value it has brought, we expect more partners to join the initiative to further combat intimate image abuse on a global scale
