Patreon Joins StopNCII.org as a New Industry Partner

Patreon, the leading media and community platform for creators and fans, has joined StopNCII.org as a new industry partner. StopNCII.org is SWGfL’s groundbreaking initiative dedicated to prevent the non-consensual sharing of intimate images online. Patreon joins our growing list of industry partners including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Microsoft Bing, Reddit, Niantic, OnlyFans, Pornhub, Threads, Bitly, RedGIFS and Playhouse.

David Wright, CEO of SWGfL said: "We are delighted that Patreon joins our fight against intimate image abuse. Their participation in StopNCII.org signifies a crucial step towards a safer online environment, ensuring that creators and users alike can engage on digital platforms free from the threat of non-consensual content sharing. We continue to encourage more industry platforms to join the StopNCII.org initiative."

StopNCII.org utilises hashing technology to empower individuals, allowing them to create unique digital fingerprints (hashes) of their intimate images. These hashes enable participating platforms to detect and prevent the unauthorised sharing of such content, offering users greater control over their images. Patreon's integration into this initiative reflects a growing industry commitment to uphold privacy and protect individuals from online harm.

“At Patreon, we are committed to fostering a safer digital space where creators and their communities can thrive. Building on our zero tolerance policy for non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) on our platform, partnering with StopNCII.org reinforces our dedication to protecting individuals from the harms of NCII and ensuring creators can share their work securely,” says Eric Han, Vice President of Trust and Safety at Patreon. “We’re proud to collaborate with industry leaders to expand the reach of this critical initiative and leverage technology that empowers individuals to safeguard their privacy.”
