Safer Internet Day, taking place on February 6th, 2024, has just reached a significant achievement, gathering support from over 1500 organisations, with the number of supporters steadily increasing each day. Building on the success of last year's event, which gathered over 5000 supporters, the aim is to get even more support this year. As one partner of the UK Safer Internet Centre, we’re taking you through how you can get involved on the day.
Schools and colleges across the United Kingdom are actively sharing their plans to celebrate the day. Engaging activities such as lively assemblies, classroom exercises, and games are in the works to emphasise the collective effort in creating a safer internet. The focal point for this year is the theme 'Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence, and navigating change online.'
Beyond schools, a diverse range of other businesses, including non-profit organisations, youth organisations, advocacy groups, and governmental bodies, are actively expressing their support. Various initiatives are already underway such as workshops, webinars, and community events that not only raise awareness for this significant day but also underline their commitment to working towards a positive online environment.

If you haven’t yet registered as a supporter, all you have to do is submit your details and a short sentence about your plans for the day. After this, you’ll appear on our map of supporters across the country. You will also receive a certificate you can display in your setting.
