It’s been fantastic to see so many people signing up for our Media Literacy online event which is taking place on Wednesday 8th December 1 – 3pm. It’s looking to be a session that will cover a wide aspect of media literacy from some of the leading professionals in the field. Ken Corish (SWGfL Online Safety Manager) – Overview and perspective of digital literacy with the latest data from the ProjectEVOLVE toolkit. Where the understanding and gaps are in student knowledge and how the toolkit is changing the education landscape.
Alexandra Evans (Head of Safety Public Policy for Europe at TikTok) – Exploring media literacy on TikTok and the latest safety features. A look into dangerous online challenges and how professionals should behave and act towards these through latest research and insights.
Carmel Glassbrook (Professionals Online Safety Helpline Lead) – How schools can be aware and proactively manage their online reputation. A look into how the helpline operates.
Rachel Beggs who is the Head of Media Literacy Programmes at DCMS and Claire Levens who is Head of Media Literacy Policy at Ofcom will also be speaking at the session.
