The UK Safer Internet Centre has been actively working towards promoting online safety among children and young people for several years now. One of the initiatives that has been running successfully is the Online Safety Live events, conducted by the team at SWGfL.
The Online Safety Live events are free sessions for professionals working with children and young people. These events are designed to provide educators, social workers, and other professionals with the latest information on online safety and how to address current digital risks.
What’s Included?
The events cover a range of topics such as online grooming, cyberbullying, sexting, and online radicalization. The sessions are delivered by experienced professionals who have extensive knowledge in their respective fields, across online and in-person sessions.
Held throughout the UK, participants can choose to attend a session at a location that is most convenient for them, with sessions lasting for about an hour and a half.
Events have helped professionals to gain a better understanding about the risks that children and young people face online as well as how to mitigate these risks.
