Congratulations to our Online Safety Mark Schools

Congratulations to our Online Safety Mark Schools

The 360 safe online safety self-review tool is provided free of charge by SWGfL to allow schools to review and improve their online safety practice. The tool is used by over 16,000 schools across the UK with schools in Wales and Scotland having access to their own national versions of the tool – 360 safe Scotland and the 360 safe Cymru (accessed through Hwb).

Schools that are able to show strong practice by reaching the benchmark levels in the tools are able to apply for the nationally recognised Online Safety Mark .

What is the Online Safety Mark?

For their first assessment schools receive a visit from an Online Safety Mark Assessor who meets with senior leaders, teaching and support staff, governors, parents and carers and, most importantly, the learners. The Assessor verifies the information in the school’s review, celebrates the school’s successes and identifies areas for further development.

Ron Richards the Online Safety Mark Lead Assessor would like to congratulate these schools on their continued success. Having read all their reviews, he observed that it was very evident that the schools continue to develop and improve the online safety provision and that the leadership and delivery is more embedded in the every-day life of the school, rather than being seen as an “add on”.

With ongoing developments in digital technologies and online behaviours, it is essential that schools regularly review their online safety practice through the 360 safe tool and it is pleasing to see so many schools confirm and celebrate the quality of their practice through the award of the Online Safety Mark.
