The UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC) has recently published a draft of its 2023 ‘appropriate’ filtering and monitoring definitions, for public consultation. For many years the UK Safer Internet Centre has provided appropriate filtering and monitoring definitions to help schools and providers understand more around the process and define what is considered ‘appropriate’. Now, these new definitions for 2023 have been released for public consultation.
As well as the Department for Education’s Keeping Children Safe in Education, which was published in 2015 and last updated in 2022, the UK Safer Internet Centre first published its filtering and monitoring definitions in 2016 to assist schools with their responsibilities.
Included below is a link to the proposed revisions along with versions that have tracked changes and highlights of the new changes compared to 2022. Take a look at the UK Safer Internet Centre site and download the definitions here.
