March has been a fantastic month for SWGfL. Following on from ProjectEVOLVE winning the Digital Impact Awards earlier this month, 360 Early Years has now been awarded a Bett award for the Early Years – Digital Product of Service category. The ceremony which took place in London last night, saw some of the leading organisations within the education sector come together to celebrate the leading products, services and technologies that can benefit schools and other organisations.
360 Early Years
The creation of 360 Early Years was building on from our already established work from the 360 tool which has assisted over 14,000 schools in developing their online safety policy and practice. The tool is specific to a range of early years’ settings with guidance for those age groups and the staff/volunteers that work with them.
Judges from Bett commented:
This was a useful tool for the early years sector with the potential for wide-reaching application beyond the traditional classroom. The judges liked that the product builds on an established and proven technology while adapted specifically to this learning phase.
David Wright (Director of UK Safer Internet Centre)
''With tools like 360 Early Years, we are looking to bring online safety to the forefront of discussion and practice. With more and more people being online, the risk of harm to children and young people can increase if not managed correctly by the right establishments and settings. The internet is always changing and it is our responsibility to keep up with policy and practice so it can be used safely.
360 Early Years ensures that your setting is up-to-date and in control of your online safety responsibilities whilst actively building on knowledge and understanding of essential topics and considerations. We’re so happy to receive this prestigious award, thank you so much to BETT and all those who have used it, we look forward to seeing it grow and continue to support early years settings.''
