LSCB Self Review Tool
How would a Local Authority or Local Safeguarding Children's Board know the Online Safety provision across the agencies and organisations that work with children in their area? How can they develop an area wide strategic plan for Online Safety?
A good starting point would be to use SWGfL's LSCB Online Safety Self Review Tool.
The tool provides excellent prompts to allow the Local Authority / Local Safeguarding Children's Board group to understand what they know (or don't know) about local Online Safety provision for young people across the area.
The review is at three levels: (Elements, Stands, Aspects), based on the PIES model (Policy & Leadership, Infrastructure, Education, Standards)
For each aspect there are five level statements, allowing the user to select a level that best describes provision in the LSCB area.
LSCBs that have used the tool have found it to helpful in reviewing current practice and enabling the development of a Strategic Plan and Work Plan.
