Working in Partnership with the Ben Uri Gallery, LGfL has produced a new Holocaust Education resource based on the Ben Uri Art Collection.
This new resource can be used to support Holocaust studies for GCSE History students, and is also intended for use by GCSE Art and Design students who wish to research Holocaust art.
This can help students to ‘deconstruct’ art works and included are ideas for further thought and discussion, as well as practical starting points for the creation of students own visual art work.
It is important to recognise that the resource explores themes identified within a number of works from the Ben Uri Gallery, the London Jewish Museum of Art collection only, and that the subject of Holocaust art is a very broad topic which may require further investigation outside of this resource.
The launch of Holocaust Education through the Ben Uri Art Collection is in support of the update to the Holocaust Explained website produced by the London Jewish Cultural Centre, which now features resources specifically targeted at Key Stage 4 students.
