Culture Street

A one-stop destination to introduce young people to contemporary artists, writers, filmmakers and performers and their amazing work - both online and in the real world - on the Art, Stage, Film and Book channels. The passion is encouraging creativity in the classroom and beyond, and where a child lives shouldn't be a barrier to the arts.

So, the website is jam-packed full of interactive resources to inspire young people to get started and share their work. There's everything from making a clay coil pot, an animation, or a book, to understanding what the Turner Prize is all about..

Culture Street provide practical support for creative projects in their workshop section. This is were they feature a wide range of filmed classroom workshops, led by their collaborations with professional artists from many different artforms. Teachers notes to accompany the workshops are available from their store.

You might have come across their former sites such as ArtisanCam, Film Street or ArtisanCam Performance. ArtisanCam was nominated for the prestigious Webby awards and won a BETT award in 2007 and a BAFTA in 2008. As Culture Street, they've been able to draw together a family of creative websites in one place.

The new Culture Street site has been funded by Arts Council England.
